About the game

Baltic Rescue – Match & Track is an engaging tile-matching puzzle game designed to raise awareness of the connection between human activities, environmental pressures and the health of the Baltic Sea. Suitable for all ages, the game can be played on desktop or mobile devices.

In this online game players dive into the challenges facing the Baltic Sea. They will identify environmental pressures caused by human actions and explore solutions (measures) to achieve the outcome, an improved state of the Baltic Sea. The game involves six locations (Kattegat, the Southern Baltic, the open Baltic, the Gulf of Finland, the Landsort Deep, the Bothnian Bay), each highlighting a specific topic (biodiversity, sea-based activities, hazardous substances and litter, eutrophication, non-indigenous species, climate change) and features a representative species (harbour porpoise, blue mussel, white-tailed sea eagle, Baltic cod, Saduria entomon, ringed seal), helping players understand the complex interactions between human activities, pressures and measures.

The game has been developed as part of the HOLAS to All -project in collaboration with Part of Noise Games. The project is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The game is in the final stages of development and the game is set to launch in the summer of 2025.

Baltic Rescue – Match & Track will be available free of charge on the itch.io platform.
