Tracking of implementation of BSAP commitments
The HELCOM Explorer tracks the progress for the implementation of the actions from the HELCOM Baltic Sea Action Plan (BSAP), adopted in 2007, as well as commitments made at the HELCOM Ministerial Meetings in 2010, 2013 and 2018. It also shows the implementation status of selected HELCOM Recommendations.
While the Explorer includes the 199 actions from the 2021 updated Baltic Sea Action Plan, their implementation status has yet not been updated in the Explorer and is currently listed as “not accomplished” until the first reporting, due to take place in 2025. The results will be reflected in the Explorer in 2026.
HELCOM Explorer contains information on joint actions, implemented jointly by all HELCOM Contracting Parties (e.g., creating a new Recommendation), as well as national actions, implemented nationally (e.g., incorporating the provisions of a HELCOM Recommendation into relevant national legislation or guidelines).
