    EG Pelagic

    Expert Group on Pelagic Habitats

    The main purpose of the HELCOM Expert Group on Pelagic Habitats (EG Pelagic) is to provide an optimal overview of status for pelagic habitats for the fourth holistic assessment of the Baltic Sea (HOLAS 4). EG Pelagic supports the implementation of the relevant actions in the HELCOM Baltic Sea Action Plan, HELCOM commitments and other existing international frameworks such as the EU Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD), the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD; coastal areas), and EU’s biodiversity strategy for 2030.
